2018 – 2019, Our Living Homeschool, Homeschool Planner

2018-2019, Charlotte Mason Homeschool Planner | myhumblekitchen.com

(Hey podcast listeners, I have a free gift for you at the end of the post!)

Welcome, A Delectable Education podcast listeners! I’m so thrilled you’re here. If you haven’t stopped by My Humble Kitchen in the past, let me introduce myself.

My name is Diana. I started my blog 9 years ago, mostly to share nutrient dense meals using food that I raise and grow on my urban homestead. Naturally, I’ve included my children in whatever projects I’ve found myself doing. From gardening, cooking, and raising backyard chickens for eggs and meat, my children have been by my side. With everything we were doing together at home, you think I would have started homeschooling right away.

Our Journey to Homeschool actually started away from the home but after a short half year, we found that our natural rhythm of education was best met in the home. I’ve now been home educating my children for six years. My oldest boy will soon turn 12, my middle son just turned 10, and my daughter will be 6.

We started our homeschool journey using the My Father’s World curriculum. It was this curriculum that introduced me to Charlotte Mason. After reading, For the Children’s Sake, I knew I needed to learn more. Thanks to the ladies at A Delectable Education, their podcast was what my soul was searching for. Three years ago, I had my first consultation with the ladies at ADE and that school year was one in which we experienced rest, joy, truth, beauty, and goodness. It was wonderful. You can read more about Homeschooling with A Delectable Education here.

Once we started a complete Charlotte Mason education at home, I couldn’t find a suitable planner that worked with her methods of education. Mostly, a daily planner that used time increments. So, being a graphic designer, I made my own. I ended up offering it to the growing Charlotte Mason community and I’m thrilled that it has become a popular resource for many families homeschooling their children using Charlotte Mason’s method of education.

Now in its third year, Our Living Homeschool, homeschool planner is both aesthetically pleasing and practical, some have called it an inspiring work of art that makes planning your homeschool year delightful.

NEW This Year!

I’ve created a weekly schedule with 10-minute time increments that correspond with scheduling cards. After you’ve figured out your Charlotte Mason Homeschool schedule using the scheduling cards, you can easily transfer that information to this spreadsheet. I’ve created a schedule for one, two, three, and four students. This way you can easily see each of your student’s schedules side-by-side.

(I’m currently working on a video to show you how I use each component of the planner. The video should be up by Monday, May 14th. I’ll share the link here once it’s done or you can sign up for my email list at the bottom of this page and be alerted via email.)
