Mason Jar, Love.

photo via Etsy

I’m currently in the process of planning wedding pies and a small cake for a very good friend of ours.

It’s going to be a beautiful wedding taking place at a conservancy dedicated to sustainable land management.  Very rustic, country charm.

In researching I’ve found so many adorable uses for mason jars.  Many using vintage blue Ball jars that I’ll soon start scouring for at local antique shops.

I wanted to share some of the inspiring photos I’ve been finding online to share the love of mason jars.  They just melt my heart.

There are so many uses for mason jars.  A true test of design… something that will never go out of style.

Have you come up with clever uses for mason jars?

I love mason jars, especially the blue ones and unique ones. So I couldn’t turn down a birdfeeder at a craft fair – using a blue 1 qt Kerr jar (wish it was Ball) inverted on a chicken feeder tray, with a vintage 2 qt. crystal bowl inverted on it for a “roof”. Not sure I’d want to attempt to drill though Mason glass, but I was sure glad they did! I bought it for $18!! (similar example: http://www.etsy.com/listing/76500082/mason-jar-bird-feeder)

    Mason Jars … XOXOXOX

I store all my baking goods in them — 1/2 gallon size for flours, oatmeal and sugars, quarts for dried fruit, nuts, rice, choco chips, and pints for baking soda, yeast, salt.

I love pretty much all glass jars & bottles (oh I HEART glass bottles!!!), not just mason jars. I have a thing for collecting them. It drove my mom crazy while we were in Costa Rica! LOL! I often like to take the cap and glue fun fabric on it to give it a new look, especially when I am storing food in them. To give my kitchen some color. For a long time I would serve my family water for meals in a big old blue wine bottle.

Love those pictures above! I’ve always wanted to make lights with glass bottles or jars.

This post got my attention! 🙂
I have some old blue ball mason jars, the ones with the glass and metal lids. The uses are endless. But mine, usually had pantry items like: popcorn kernels, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, peanuts, cinnamon sticks, raisins, oatmeal, sea salt, dry fruits, … well you get he idea. 🙂
Flea markets are a great place to find them.

The clear jars, I use them for dressings, jams, salsas, oils, yogurt, and any other liquid thing in the kitchen.

Glad to know you like them too.

Don’t drop them in the fridge when they’re full of milk though. Ouch.
