Just Making Ice-Cream eBook and Giveaway!

For all of you ice-cream lovers, today is a special day.  My friend Marillyn Beard from Just Making Noise just released her first eBook.

Just Making Ice Cream.

I know, right?!  I was really excited when she first let us know that she was working on this.  If you don’t follow Mare already, the focus of her blog is on wholesome eating and when it comes to dessert, it’s no exception.

Quite honestly, I feel she’s one of the best out there in real food dessert so I was thrilled when she decided to share over 70 ice cream recipes made with nourishing ingredients.

It’s a fantastic resource featuring ice-cream, sherbet, sorbet, gelato and even cultured ice-cream recipes.

For someone like me who tends to make more savory foods, it’s so helpful in that every recipe uses natural sweeteners and nourishing ingredients.

This brand new eBook contains:

  • beautiful photography
  • 10 reasons why you should make your own ice cream
  • Ice cream 101: ingredients, tips and equipment
  • How to choose an ice cream maker
  • 5 ways to make ice cream without a maker
  • Know your frozen desserts
  • over 70 incredible recipes for ice cream, gelato, cultured milk, sherbet and sorbet made from nourishing ingredients!
  • And MORE!

Buy the Book: Support Rancho Oasis For Youth

Marillyn is currently a missionary in Honduras with her husband and three children.

They have started a non-profit organization called Rancho Oasis For Youth, A Place of Serenity Amid Chaos.

For the past few years they have been working tremendously to bring an oasis to impoverished children and their families while spreading the message of Jesus Christ.

Here are some words from Mare about her family and ministry.

“I am a wife to 1 amazing man, a mama of 3 beautiful kids and a missionary in Honduras. We are currently living on 6 and a half acres of land surrounded by gorgeous pines and mountains, starting up our ministry Rancho Oasis for Youth.

I’ve been writing my blog, Just Making Noise: Sound Bites From a Deaf Mama, since 2009 because I love to share my passions for healthy food, wholesome lifestyle and photography. I also love to make healthy sweets (especially ice cream!) and try to cook almost everything I can from scratch.

My family and I are learning how to run a productive homestead and currently learning many things from gardening and caring for animals. We desire to teach the people in the surrounding villages how to raise their own food through the square-foot gardening method and caring for goats to provide milk. Your purchase of this book is helping us reach those goals to not only help the Honduran people, but to also spread the gospel of Jesus Christ! Thank you!”

What is so special about this eBook is that it’s going right back into their ministry to further the kingdom!

Mare is someone dear to me and I’m so happy to be able to say that I know this lady in real life.  We’ve gone through ups and downs but one thing is for sure, she loves her friends, family and Jesus.

Let’s Take A Sneak Peak!

I was even able to test a recipe for her.  Roasted strawberry balsamic creme fraiche ice cream.

It was wonderful! My hubby is not an ice-cream person, however, after making this ice cream he’s been asking me to make more.

It was honestly that good and I can’t wait to make some new recipes from the book.

I can’t pick one favorite flavor of ice cream … there are too many I love. Toasted almond fudge, anything with coconut, kulfi with pistachios and cardamom, lavender, anything organic and fresh made into ice cream is amazing to me.

What a fortuitous post! I was just thinking about taking out the ice cream maker (here in the Canary Islands, Sept and Oct are our hottest months)! I love every flavor of iced treats, but vanilla is probably my favorite….of course chocolate is also my favorite. And strawberry. And dulce de leche. 😉 ps–I already “like” you on FB and am an email subscriber.
