It’s 2012! Finally.
I have to admit. I’m really excited to say goodbye to 2011 and move forward to 2012. I’ve done a bit of soul searching over the last month and am quite excited to share my New Year’s resolutions with you tomorrow.
I have great monthly themes coming up on the blog and some personal goals to finally set my mind to and accomplish. Of course, I’ll need your help to keep me accountable and focused.
Focused, I like that. It’s going to be a great year.
After all, I’ll also be welcoming a new bundle of joy this coming June. (Oh, I just can’t wait for a new baby to snuggle.)

I remember crying as I read “I’m Choosing to Live a Simple Life” I relate to the roller coaster of feelings during such an event. tow years ago our little Ezekiel (my grandson)died at 2 days of age while in his mother’s arms. He just slept away… It was a genetic disorder that was not diagnosed until too late. Never have I (we) felt such grief, sorrow, & shock. The entire family gathered in the ER and held Ezekiel for several hours after his death. We loved on him, talking, crying, singing. We sang hymns together and prayed, praising God for the time we had with Ezekiel. He was the firstborn for our son & his wife, and the first grandchild on both sides of the family. Never have I questioned God more, yet at the same time never have I felt his presence and comfort more. It has changed me. Like you, I have chosen to focus on the important and lasting things of life and let go of the trivial. God is good…always…even when life doesn’t make sense. We all still ache and cry for our Ezekiel, but look forward to the day when we will be reunited, worshipping the One who makes all things whole and new.
Our son & his wife have a daughter now, Abigail Joy! They live in Boone and we in north Iowa and we can’t see her often enough! She may have the same genetic problem as her brother; genetic testing is not advanced enough yet to get a confirmed diagnosis. Thankfully, it is treatable (not curable)if symptoms emerge. We trust God with Abigail and any future children they may have. He loves them more than we ever could!
What did you decide about going back to school to get your teaching degree? And, just out of curiousity, is your husband a doctor? He signs his post as “Dr Gabriel Bauman”. Blessings in the new year to you and your family and know that I pray for you all. I so enjoy your blog. Thank you!

Thanks for the sweet note Corinne. It seems we all go through trials and tribulations in this life but one thing is for sure, through each one it brings us closer to God and shows us more faith than we ever knew we could have. I’ll be praying for Abigail and that she has a healthy prognosis.
I think right now, things are up in the air as far as career moves. There’s a couple things going on that we have been praying about for a year and when the Lord answers I’ll share for sure! 2011 was a trying year for my family but through it all we have more faith that God will provide and bring us to where He wants us.
As far as doctor Bauman, haha!! You need to meet my husband, he’s a jokester! He thinks it’s so funny to sign as Dr for things on the internet or telemarketing type things. You don’t know how many calls we receive asking for Dr. Bauman. He thinks it’s funny, but no, he’s a graphic designer. Not a doctor.
Thanks again Corinne and I wish you the best New Year filled with blessings!
