I’m over at Keeper of the Home today.
My post is called, This Christmas, Give the Gift of Nutrition Through Fermentation.
In it I share my idea of gifting homemade fermented fruit chutney and yogurt as Christmas gifts. I thought to round out a gift basket it would be great to include Wardeh Harmon’s (GNOWFGLINS) book, The Complete Idiot’s Guide To Fermenting Foods.
Isn’t that a neat idea? It would be a super easy way to introduce your loved ones to fermented foods and give them the opportunity to create their own at home.
To round out the post, I develped a fruit chutney recipe that turned out really tasty.
Apple, Raisin, and Butternut Squash Spiced Chutney.
You can find the recipe at Keeper of the Home.
The chutney tastes wonderful topped on homemade plain yogurt; however, I’ve found that its flavors taste fantastic blended in a smoothie. My kids LOVE it!
It taste so yummy in the morning or as a snack, that I just had to share the recipe with you.
Grab the chutney recipe over at Keeper of the Home, then come back to make a smoothie.
