Faith and Family

September 11, 2009

It’s 9/11 and a day to remember.  A day that vividly lives in my heart.  I remember watching from my apartment at Iowa State University as 2 planes crashed into the World Trade Center in New York City.  A horrifying event that I could never have imagined.  This is a day to remember the lives that were lost and the human spirit of love that captivated the entire Earth.  It was a day when one brother stood to hold anothers’ hand.  I do pray that on this day we continually remember the events that took place and that it brings us to the realization of what is truly important in this world.  That we are all human filled with weaknesses and differences and ultimately lost in our own sin, but through Christ, we are saved and have a promise of Hope in His kingdom to come!  Praise the Lord!

I remember being with my Mom when the planes hit the towers and hugging her really tight. We could not believe what we saw on TV. -Tien

I worked downtown NYC at the time and witnessed some of the horror, as well as the bonding of the New Yorkers at the time. It was so incredibly sad and traumatizing, but yet amazing to see people band together afterwards also. If only that could have lasted! I heard a group of 3rd graders joking about it yesterday-they had NO idea how serious it was. It's sad that something so earth shattering can be forgotten so quickly. Only God knows the long-term consequences of such a catastrophe. Man am I glad he's in charge!

And thanks for the comment on the cute kids. 🙂 I agree, I think they're adorable. Of course, they look an awful lot like their daddy, which helps.

And my Cortido was kind of bland. It's something I need to work on. Good luck with yours! We'll get it, someday….

Me again, I just saw your first comment on raw milk. I was in Mason City, IA for a month this summer and soo frustrated that I could not get it. We did drive up to St. cloud, MN for some, but that was just too far away to go again.

My family has since hooked up with a farmer listed on the WAPF milk website who delivers near Austin, MN.

And, I know of a neat Christian family near Marshalltown, IA who just got some cows. Not sure where you are, or how far away from them. But they are doing the cow share thing. Sort of under the radar. If you are interested, you can email me and I can set you up with them. I'm not sure of the price, etc. r.sarah @ lycos .com.

I would be so lost without my raw milk!
