Feed Your Soul Friday: Le Jardin Potager

Source: google.com via Diana on Pinterest

Le Jardin Potager.

French for a kitchen garden.

Flowers and herbs are planted with the vegetables to enhance the garden’s beauty.

A potager ensures the garden is aesthetically pleasing while at the same time provides food for the family.

A well designed potager can provide food, herbs, and cut flowers for the home.

I’m enamored with the potager garden as it reflects edible landscaping.

Gardening becomes intentional and well thought out.

Of course a potager doesn’t happen over night and can takes years of trial to see what works and what doesn’t.

After 8 years I’m finally getting somewhere with my own potager.

However, it still has quite a way to go.

To continue planning for years to come, I seek out inspiration and file them away.

Below are more beautiful examples of Le Jarden Potager.

A garden becomes more than just a place growing food but of refuge.

Peace.

Do you have an edible landscape, potager or cottage garden?

Is it still in the works or complete?

I’m anxious to hear what kinds of plants (edible and non edible) that you have growing.

Have a beautiful and blessed Friday!

I have an herb garden, with all of the herbs I use. I planted the Rosemary near the walkway so that you brush it as you walk by. Lovely scent!

I utilized an unused area on the side of my house for a patch of purple asparagus, rhubarb, and an above ground box for vertical vegetables or fruit. Last year I had cucumbers in it but this year I’m trying cantelope.

I should go outside and shoot some garden pics. It’s been an amazing season so far.

I’m completely jealous of those gardens. I keep killing things–in my hands, everything is an annual! I’m…I’m going to try little windowsill pots this time and see if I succeed.

These photos are making me yearn for a garden of my own, which I will develop on the large balcony of my apartment in Beirut in a few months.
