{The 2018-2019 homeschool planner will be released in May of 2018!}
Friends, I’m so excited to bring to you my new Charlotte Mason homeschool planner for the 2017-2018 academic year! After going “whole hog” with Charlotte Mason and A Delectable Education for the past year, I’ve been able to see what improvements I needed to make to the free planner I created last year.
Thanks to the A Delectable Education podcast, I was able to learn how to correctly teach some subjects like singing and recitation. Continuing my own education throughout the year while teaching helped me refine this new planner. I’m sure next year will bring new developments as well 😉
Last year, I gave the entire planner away for free because it was my first year going “whole hog”, so I knew it was going to need some work. I do thank all of you that used it and took the time to let me know that you enjoyed it. It gave me the added determination to refine it and release this new version!
A Charlotte Mason Homeschool Planner
I’m very excited to share with you that I am releasing the new Charlotte Mason homeschool planner in my brand new Etsy shop, A Living Education. I’ve always wanted to open my own Etsy shop and this seemed like the perfect format to sell the planner.
Click here to purchase at my etsy shop.
The new planner is once again, completely editable.
For just $9.99, this new editable, 12-page Charlotte Mason homeschool planner includes …
- a cover page
- an academic monthly calendar at a glance
- an attendance calendar
- a book list
- a student reader selection
- term 1-3 enrichment pages
- The Great Recognition wall art
- a weekly schedule
- a lesson plan page
- weekly notes
Click here to purchase at my etsy shop.
I’ve also included a printable of CM’s Great Recognition to remind you that each day the holy spirit is responsible for your child’s education, you just need to provide the feast. I find such peace in that truth.
I’ve also included a 12-page printable monthly calendar with a bit of mother culture to inspire your day.
In the calendar, you’ll find excerpts and illustrations from one of my favorite living bird books appropriately titled, Birds, written by Neltje Blanchan. This is a book I feel deserves a space on your bookshelf.

This looks lovely, but I am looking for something I can use daily. So do you recommend just printing multiple copies of the lesson plan pages that those can be filled out for each week?
That is exactly what I do! I use it daily. On the lesson plan page, I type in the day of the week on the top right corner, and then the time, subject, and lessons for that day. Then, I make another one for Tuesday, etc … I’m planning on releasing a video on exactly how I use it. I think that will be helpful 😀 Hope that helps!
Dear Diana,
I just subscribed to your emails, so I could get your free 3 page planner. I was sent to a page that said to “click on the download below”, and below it said “2017-2018 Charlotte Mason Homeschool Planner”. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a link when I clicked on that. Please tell me how I can get your free planner. Thanks!
Sincerely,
Susan King
Susan, I apologize about that, I forgot to set up the link. It’s all set to go! Go on back to the welcome page and the link should now be active. If you have any problems, feel free to email me at [email protected].
Thank you so much!!!
Thank you Diana for another beautiful planner! Makes planning so much easier when you have beautiful things to look at and read. Makes me want to dive in and start planning already!
No problem!
I loved your planner last year and am excited to use this one for the upcoming year! How do you use the “Student Reader” page? Is that for like an free read/independent book list?
Maggie, yes, that’s the idea! I made something similar for my son last year, and he really enjoyed it. I’ll explain how I use it in a video I’m going to shoot soon on the how I use the planner, but what I did was put his required historical fiction books in it. I gave him 8 book options. I put the image and a short synopsis of each book and then allowed him to choose which book to read first. Once he finished, we crossed it off and he chose the next one. It worked out great!
Did you release the “how to” videos for the planner yet? I’d love to see how to utilize the planner!
You can find it in the post above 😀
Thank you for the video. I love to hear and see how different people plan their school year because I feel like I can always improve my own system. I definitely gleaned some new ideas today. Love the daily sheet.
I’m glad to hear that, Julie! Thanks for stopping by!
Cool blog, neighbor!
Thanks, Mike!
I was trying to watch the video but when I click on it, it says the video is unavailable.
Hmmm, do you know when the video will be working again? I’m eager to watch! Thanks 🙂
Your video is not working. Love the planner.
Thanks,
Jo
This looks lovely! Would you consider adding an outside time tracker page? Possibly something where you mark of any outside time in 15 min increments. I started one casually and I love the accountability it provides but I would love for it to match the notebook. You mentioned you are working on more pages so maybe it is already in the works.
It’s definitely something I’ll think about for next year. Great idea!
I’m new to CM and you referenced listening to a podcast. Can you tell me which one? Love these pages. HAD to buy them! Can’t wait to make a beautiful planner for next year. Thank you!
The podcast I listen to is A Delectable Education. I’m glad you like them!
Truly lovely!
I’m glad you enjoy it!
THIS LOOKS AMAZING! Your video is so helpful with your planner and with the kids’ binders!
The only challenge for me is that we don’t really do a plan where we do the same thing every Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday, but we do loop scheduling. If I can figure out how I’d work that in cleverly I’m totally heading to your Etsy shop!!!
Thanks for creating such a beautiful and useful resource for the Charlotte Mason community!
No problem. I love this community!
Did you resize the The Great Recognition wall art to get it to fit into an 8×10 frame? It’s beautiful and I love the frame too!
thanks!
I just trimmed it! Thanks 😀
Thank you so much for this year’s planner! It was so helpful and gorgeous last year so I am excited to get started with this planning this year. I am just wondering if you have a blog post or video about your children’s planner in more depth. OR it possible to get copies of the sheets in your children’s binder to edit for my own?
Kim, I currently don’t but I will take this into consideration for next years planner. Adding in additional supplements for students is a great idea!
HI Diana,
It’s amazing how connections are made. I was looking for some CM decor on Etsy. I came across your planner and watched your video. I just had a consultation with Liz Cottrell at A Delectable Education and met Nicole at the first CMI West Conference last year. What a great group of ladies.
Thank you for the lovely planner. It’s exactly what I had been searching for. I just made a purchase at your Etsy store. This is the inspiration I needed. My son is ASD so he isn’t quite ready for first grade but I have realized that doesn’t mean he isn’t learning a great deal so I am excited to learn with him. After my consult with ADE I was encouraged to move forward and use a curriculum that is appropriate for him. I am excited that I can use your planner to organize my homeschool.
Awesome, Monique! I pray you have a great school year!
Hi! I bought the planner after using the free one from last year. It’s great! I was curious if you have plans to make a CM motto page in the same style?? I’d love one to match!
Great idea, Esther! I can probably do this for next years planner.
Hi there! I am hoping you will have a 2018-2019 edition available! I am wanting to use your planner for our new school year! It is so beautiful and user friendly!
Casey, yes, I will! It will be released the first of May!
I enjoy reading your blog, so helpful as I’m planning our first year of homeschooling!!! God bless!!
