A Charlotte Mason Homeschool Planner, 2017-2018

A Charlotte Mason Homeschool Planner PLUS Free Version

{The 2018-2019 homeschool planner will be released in May of 2018!}

Friends, I’m so excited to bring to you my new Charlotte Mason homeschool planner for the 2017-2018 academic year! After going “whole hog” with Charlotte Mason and A Delectable Education for the past year, I’ve been able to see what improvements I needed to make to the free planner I created last year.

Thanks to the A Delectable Education podcast, I was able to learn how to correctly teach some subjects like singing and recitation. Continuing my own education throughout the year while teaching helped me refine this new planner. I’m sure next year will bring new developments as well 😉

Last year, I gave the entire planner away for free because it was my first year going “whole hog”, so I knew it was going to need some work. I do thank all of you that used it and took the time to let me know that you enjoyed it. It gave me the added determination to refine it and release this new version!

This looks lovely, but I am looking for something I can use daily. So do you recommend just printing multiple copies of the lesson plan pages that those can be filled out for each week?

That is exactly what I do! I use it daily. On the lesson plan page, I type in the day of the week on the top right corner, and then the time, subject, and lessons for that day. Then, I make another one for Tuesday, etc … I’m planning on releasing a video on exactly how I use it. I think that will be helpful 😀 Hope that helps!

    Dear Diana,

I just subscribed to your emails, so I could get your free 3 page planner. I was sent to a page that said to “click on the download below”, and below it said “2017-2018 Charlotte Mason Homeschool Planner”. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a link when I clicked on that. Please tell me how I can get your free planner. Thanks!

    Sincerely,
    Susan King

I loved your planner last year and am excited to use this one for the upcoming year! How do you use the “Student Reader” page? Is that for like an free read/independent book list?

Maggie, yes, that’s the idea! I made something similar for my son last year, and he really enjoyed it. I’ll explain how I use it in a video I’m going to shoot soon on the how I use the planner, but what I did was put his required historical fiction books in it. I gave him 8 book options. I put the image and a short synopsis of each book and then allowed him to choose which book to read first. Once he finished, we crossed it off and he chose the next one. It worked out great!

This looks lovely! Would you consider adding an outside time tracker page? Possibly something where you mark of any outside time in 15 min increments. I started one casually and I love the accountability it provides but I would love for it to match the notebook. You mentioned you are working on more pages so maybe it is already in the works.

THIS LOOKS AMAZING! Your video is so helpful with your planner and with the kids’ binders!

The only challenge for me is that we don’t really do a plan where we do the same thing every Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday, but we do loop scheduling. If I can figure out how I’d work that in cleverly I’m totally heading to your Etsy shop!!!

Thanks for creating such a beautiful and useful resource for the Charlotte Mason community!

Thank you so much for this year’s planner! It was so helpful and gorgeous last year so I am excited to get started with this planning this year. I am just wondering if you have a blog post or video about your children’s planner in more depth. OR it possible to get copies of the sheets in your children’s binder to edit for my own?

Kim, I currently don’t but I will take this into consideration for next years planner. Adding in additional supplements for students is a great idea!

    HI Diana,

It’s amazing how connections are made. I was looking for some CM decor on Etsy. I came across your planner and watched your video. I just had a consultation with Liz Cottrell at A Delectable Education and met Nicole at the first CMI West Conference last year. What a great group of ladies.

Thank you for the lovely planner. It’s exactly what I had been searching for. I just made a purchase at your Etsy store. This is the inspiration I needed. My son is ASD so he isn’t quite ready for first grade but I have realized that doesn’t mean he isn’t learning a great deal so I am excited to learn with him. After my consult with ADE I was encouraged to move forward and use a curriculum that is appropriate for him. I am excited that I can use your planner to organize my homeschool.
