Let’s Build a Shop Together

Let's Build a Shop Together | myhumblekitchen.com

I can’t even begin to tell you how amazingly blessed I’ve been by this community. After sharing with you some of the financial difficulty that my family has seen this year, I’ve had an outpouring of comments and emails come from many of you sharing some of the trials you’ve had this year.

Its been humbling to see that the “year of crap” has led many to victory! Maybe not in the material but in the spiritual. We’re standing taller, stronger, and filled with his power!

Its been uplifting to see how we’ve realized that in our trials God is using it all for his glory and bringing us much more joy and peace than we have ever known. I’d encourage you to read through some of the comments from Monday’s post. Many brought me to tears especially to see others commenting and praying for each other. God has a way of using everything for good!

Let’s Build a Shop Together

My wife's handmade pigs for daughter.

Over the past few months God has impressed it on my heart to do something for this community. Specifically, stay at home mama’s needing to make extra money to help in supporting their families and in keeping them at home.

There’s still a bit of planning to do, but you know what, I’m going to give this to God and if it’s meant to be, then it will.

So here it is. My Humble Kitchen sees nearly 100,000 pageviews a month with about 70,000 visits. Although not huge, it’s a platform that I want to extend to you!

That’s right, if you’re a stay at home mama that would like to make some extra money or a mama that has run into hard times this year, I’m inviting you to sell on my etsy shop that I will create. For the entire month of December I’m going to focus each of my posts on the products being sold there and I’ll share it far and wide to help you make a profit for Christmas.

Here’s the thing, I’m not going to charge a thing. Whatever you sell on my shop, you’ll get the profit for. It’s my way to bless you and further his kingdom!

What I’m Looking For

I’m looking for handmade items that you make. Maybe you’ve never made anything, take a look at pinterest and see if there’s anything you can make that will make great Christmas gifts.

Here are some items off the top of my head

  • napkins
  • aprons
  • table cloths
  • dish towels
  • ceramic bowls/cups
  • spices
  • dried herbs
  • soap
  • crochet items
  • jarred gifts
  • stuffed animals
  • mobiles
  • prints

I’m sure you can think of a lot more. We just don’t want a lot of the same items being sold.  I will have to approve every item.

If you’re interested, please let me know what item you’d like to make or if you already make something send a picture as well.  Email me at [email protected] with a subject line, I’m in on the shop!

My heart is that as a community we may support each other because you know what, this life is too hard to go at it alone.

I hope to hear from many of you!

From my heart,
Diana

I love your blogs. I would love to offer vegan pastries if I can. I also am a fitness instructor so if I can offer private classes. I would have lived to as well.

I’m not a mom, but grandma. This year I’m pretty booked; but would you be interested in doll clothes. I plan to make some for my granddaughter this year. If all goes well, I’d love to make some extra cash next year!

My daughter and I are planning to record a Christmas CD with royalty free music. The proceeds will benefit the Scleroderma Relief Foundation. Is it possible to sell from your site?

Also, I am sure I can come up with some idea to make some money for our household.

    Thanking God for your heart.

Oh, my goodness! What a great idea, and what a kind, thoughtful person you are! Well, I believed that already. I have made a lot of Montessori inspired baby toys since my son was in the making, and each time I made something I made an extra–or two or three–to see if I could sell them. I haven’t made any attempts to sell anything yet, but this sounds like a perfect opportunity. Would it be possible to try to sell a few of this-or-that or should it be an inventory of one product? Also, should we offer a certain number of available items or be prepared to take orders and produce on demand….that is IF there is demand? I may be getting ahead of myself, but I really want to jump in here and know the best method to help it be successful. I don’t know anything about selling on etsy.

Jennifer, I’ll be sending out an email about this on Monday… hopefully 😉 I’m super swamped with my cookie eBook launch next week, however, it seems that you can’t have a group sell on etsy. So, I think I’ll just set up a page here and use a store app that I just purchased. I’ll have to relay everything sold to each individual person involved so you can get the product out and I can send you. I think you should be prepared for orders and produce on demand. I so pray it does well and you all can make some extra money this holiday season!!

Wow, this sounds super cool! I thought I’d check before I pass on the info, but my mom makes gluten-free pancake mixes that she sells and I have a friend who does essential oil blends for babies. Would either of those things be good for this? Thanks!
