You have probably noticed by now that I don't make many desserts. It's not that I don't enjoy them, I just didn't grow up having desserts or baked goods in the house. Monday’s with Mami – Gambas Al Ajillo
Gambas Al Ajillo or garlic shrimp is a popular tapa all throughout Spain. Nothing more than shrimp, red chili pepper, oil and garlic. Since fresh shrimp is not on the menu in Iowa, a splash of lemon and a couple tablespoons of parsley liven this tapita up. In Spain, Gambas Al Ajillo are cooked in earthenware, a cazuela. Goodbye Garden of ’09
Today was bittersweet. Nehemiah and I headed off to the farmers market bright and early. We stopped at one of our favorite vendors, Yang's Organics. This lovely couple has a beautiful family and have been able to provide our family with amazing chemical free goodies all summer long. I'm currently in class waiting for my students to finish up on an assignment. Most of you know, that I'm a graphic/web designer by profession and this year the Lord has opened up the door for me to teach at a local community college. It's been a great experience, however, at times difficult as I still have freelance clients. Next semester I have been given 3 classes that are mostly taught online. Praise the Lord!. Ways to prevent the flu
The flu season is upon us and it's hitting us hard this year! Especially, the H1N1. The media is exploding with topics on the swine flu and the government is campaigning for everyone to get the H1N1 vaccine.As a mother with two baby boys, my head is spinning with the confusion the media has created.
