A Tour of My Urban Homestead

A Tour of My Humble Kitchen's Urban Homestead | myhumblekitchen.com

A lot of my time during this time of the year is spent outdoors. By taking a quick glance at my instagram feed, you'll notice that I post many pictures of what's growing and "chirping" in my urban homestead. After posting these types of pictures, I usually get some interest from others that they'd like to start their own urban homestead but aren't sure where to start... where to begin. Many people are on a tight budget as well, so I've had even more people ask me how to start an urban ... continue reading...

Hey everyone, it's Summer! Sorry, I'm just so excited that I had to scream that out. With only 5 more days left of homeschool, I'm very excited to start a summer worth savoring. Next week sometime, I plan on sharing with you my thoughts on how my family plans to intentionally savor July. It should be fun so stick around for sure. I used to be able to afford raw milk, truly fresh pastured eggs, grass fed meats, and ... continue reading...

Dear USA, I Love You but I Don't Trust You | myhumblekitchen.com

Dear USA, I wanted to start my letter by telling you how proud I am to be living within your borders. I was born in sunny California with great expectations to make a beautiful life in the land of the free. You see, my father is a Mexican immigrant. He immigrated with his family to the United States from Mexico when he was a mere 2 years old. His father had a burning desire to give his family a better life in this country. I'm sure you're wondering if they swam across the border or jumped ... continue reading...

This past week has been a more difficult one for me. I've been dealing with a head cold that's zapped my energy levels from a 10 to a 4 on most days. I've been pushing through it but goodness as soon as the evening rolled around, I felt completely wiped out. This past week we've eaten out 3 times since I just didn't have the energy to get in the kitchen and cook. Praise God for Chipotle, local pizza, Vietnamese Pho, and an understanding husband that takes care of me ;) I am happy to say that I'm ... continue reading...
