Seedlings are taking off in my plots at the community garden. On Monday I sowed seeds of zinnia's, geraniums, and radishes as they attract beneficial insects (You can read all about companion planting by clicking here). I still need to seed marigolds, chamomile, swiss chard and mesclun lettuce. My strawberry plot is looking wonderful and next year should bring a good harvest. Fried Morel Mushrooms
For some, the beginning of May doesn't just signify spring but the short-lived season of morel mushrooms. I was in high school the first time I went out foraging for these alien shaped mushrooms.
